ARMORY GYMNASTICS

The Mini-Meet begins at 5:30 p.m. and usually lasts about 90 minutes.  Although it is not mandatory, we urge every child to participate.   For those of you who will be participating, we ask that you stop by the office and turn in a registration form.  There is no charge, but the registration forms will be used to plan the evening.  The deadline for registration will be May 14th.  Please stop by the office and turn in your registration form today.  

After the Mini-Meet, we will return for two more days of class.  The last day of the winter session will be on May 22nd.   The Armory will be closed on Friday, May 23^rd – June 2nd.

We hope that every child will participate in our special evening in May.  It is an exciting event for the whole family to enjoy. Please note those dates that are pertinent to your child’s class times.  

 Armory office to begin Summer Pre-Registration

As you unpack your shorts and swimsuits, don’t forget to include your child in our summer gymnastics program.  We will continue to offer all of our classes, although, some of the times will change.    Open registration will begin April 1^st.  The first month’s tuition is due at the time of registration.  Classes fill up quickly, so come by the front office to reserve your spot.

Mini-Meet to showcase recreational gymnasts

                If you have been a part of the Armory Gymnastics Center in the past, you already know about the Annual Spring Mini-Meet that we hold each May.  If you are new or have not participated in the past, the Mini-Meet is our version of a recital for the recreational gymnasts.  (Regrettably, we do not include the two-year-olds.) 

                We will begin teaching routines in March and April, and then on an evening in May the children will perform those routines for friends and families.  Not every child has to participate, but all are urged to attend.   We will be sending out more information along with registration forms in the April Newsletter.

Bring a Friend-FREE

    During the month of March, we will have Open Gym from 9:30 -11:00 am on Saturdays.  Anyone can come and play, if and only, you bring a friend to come play with you at the Armory that is not already registered in our program.  Neither of you will be charged to enjoy an hour and a half of fun.   So mark your calendar for every Saturday in March to share your love for gymnastics with your friends.

Armory Boys Score High at State Meet

                Spirits were high in Attalla as the Armory Men’s Team won the Level 4 Championship and Level 6 Championship.  We were especially proud of the following boys:  Hunter Morrow – 1^st Vault, 3^rd All-Around. Ethan Reed – 1^st Pommel, 1^st Vault, 1^st All-Around. Benjamin Morrow – 1^st Rings, 1^st High Bar, 1^st All-Around. Samuel Norwood – 1^st Pommel, 3^rd All-Around. Sam Bush – 1^st Pommel, 2^nd All-Around. Nahshon Smith – 1^st Vault. Clayton Allen – 2^nd All-Around. Will Winslett – 1^st Floor, 1^st Pommel, 1^st High Bar, 1^st All-Around. Jake Jernigan – 1^st Rings, 1^st P Bars, 2^nd All-Around.

New Team Members

                Congratulations to Madalyn Barfield, Sadie Davis, Jalyn Harrison, Virginia Hope, Madalyn Houde, Presley Jayne Miles, Sailor Miles, Mary Helen Miller, Jasmine Morales, Addison Ratliff, and Anna Vinson for their recent promotion to Hot Shots!  As these girls progress, they will be preparing for our competitive teams.

Go, Fight, Win!

All of the Armory Cheerleading Squads will be competing the weekend of February 15^th at the Cheer Sports Nationals in Atlanta.   The girls have been working very hard on their routines and tumbling passes.  Good luck to our cheerleaders and their sponsors!

Sand Dollar Meet
